This problem can arise if you haven't set your HP printer to default. Carry out HP Printer Troubleshooting through the following steps.
• Choose 'Devices & Printers' in the Control Panel.
• Locate your printer in the printing devices list.
• Right-click on it and choose 'Set as default printer.' If you are asked for confirmation, click 'Yes.'
• You will notice a small green checkmark below the HP printer icon. It implies that it has become the default printer.
• Try printing a page.
